Apple Warranty & AppleCare Repair in Portland

MacForce or The Apple Store

Same genuine Apple parts. Same warranty coverage. Same Apple-backed repair. Less hassle. Walk in or book online today.

If you’ve ever tried to book a Genius Bar appointment in Portland, you know the drill: check the Apple Store app, scroll through days of fully booked time slots, and maybe land something next week if you’re lucky. Then there’s the drive downtown or to the mall, the parking, and the wait once you get there.

There’s a better option. MacForce is an Apple Authorized Service Provider right here in Northeast Portland. That means we perform the exact same warranty and AppleCare repairs as the Apple Store, with the same genuine Apple parts, the same Apple-trained technicians, and the same Apple-backed guarantee on every repair. The difference? You don’t need an appointment to walk in. And if you prefer to schedule ahead, you can book your repair online in just a couple of clicks.

And one more thing the Apple Store doesn’t do.

When you bring a device to the Apple Store for repair, they don’t offer data recovery or backup. if your data isn’t already backed up, it can be lost during the repair process. MacForce offers optional data recovery and backup services as an add-on for any repair. If your photos, files, or memories are at risk, we have a real solution. Just ask when you bring your device in.

What Does “Apple Authorized” Actually Mean for You?

A lot of repair shops in Portland fix Apple products. But there’s a critical difference between an Apple Authorized Service Provider and everyone else. Here’s what our authorization means in practice:

✓     Your warranty stays intact. Repairs performed at a non-authorized shop can void your Apple warranty. Ours never will.

✓     Genuine Apple parts only. We use the same parts Apple uses at their own stores — not third-party or aftermarket components.

✓     Apple-trained technicians. Our team is trained and certified by Apple. We use Apple’s own diagnostics, tools, and repair procedures.

✓     Repairs backed by Apple. Every warranty and AppleCare repair we perform carries the same Apple guarantee as if you had it done at the Apple Store.

✓     AppleCare+ and AppleCare One accepted. We process all AppleCare plans at the same service fees as Apple — you don’t pay more by coming to us.

✓     Optional data recovery & backup. Add-on services the Apple Store doesn’t offer. If your data is at risk, we can help recover it.

Worried About Your Data?

This is where having a local shop really matters. When you bring a device to the Apple Store, their repair process can result in data loss if your device isn’t already backed up. They don’t offer data recovery. Their policy is essentially "back up before you bring it in, or accept the risk."

MacForce offers data recovery and backup as optional add-on services. If your data is at risk, we can attempt to recover photos, files, contacts, and messages before any repair work begins. For devices that are too far gone for in-house recovery, we partner with DriveSavers for lab-level data recovery.

These services are priced separately from your repair. We’ll evaluate your device when you bring it in and give you a clear quote before any recovery work begins, so you can decide what makes sense for your situation.

Not Sure If Your Device Is Covered?

No problem. You can check your coverage online at checkcoverage.apple.com, or give us a call and we can check for you.

Even if your warranty or AppleCare has expired, we offer competitive out-of-warranty repair pricing. Either way, you’re getting genuine Apple parts and certified service.

How It Works

1.     Walk in or book online. Visit our service center at 628 NE Broadway, Suite #140. No appointment needed. Prefer to schedule ahead? Book online here. You can also call (503) 231-7707 or email help@macforce.com.

2.     We check your coverage. We’ll verify your warranty status, AppleCare plan, and diagnose the issue. If your data is at risk, we’ll let you know your recovery and backup options.

3.     We repair it in-house. Most repairs are completed on-site at our Portland shop. If we need a part, Apple ships it to us directly.

4.     Pick it up and go. We’ll notify you when your device is ready. Need a rental device while you wait? Just ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a repair at MacForce really the same as going to the Apple Store?

Yes. As an Apple Authorized Service Provider, we use the same genuine Apple parts, the same Apple diagnostic tools, and the same repair procedures. Your repair is backed by Apple, and your warranty and AppleCare coverage are fully honored, exactly as if you had it done at an Apple Store.

What happens to my data when you repair my device?

It depends on the repair. Some repairs preserve your data; others (like drive replacement) don’t. We’ll let you know upfront, and if your data is at risk, we offer optional data recovery and backup services to help preserve what matters. These are paid add-on services, separate from the repair itself — but they’re an option you don’t have at the Apple Store, which doesn’t offer data recovery at all.

Will going to MacForce instead of the Apple Store void my warranty?

No. Because we are Apple Authorized, your warranty remains fully intact. This is the key difference between MacForce and a non-authorized repair shop.

Do I pay more at MacForce than at the Apple Store?

No. For warranty and AppleCare-covered repairs, the service fees are the same as Apple’s standard pricing. For out-of-warranty repairs, our rates are competitive and often faster than Apple’s depot service. Optional services like data recovery are priced separately, and we’ll quote those before any work begins.

Can I use my AppleCare+ or AppleCare One plan at MacForce?

Absolutely. We process AppleCare+ and AppleCare One claims directly through Apple’s system. Your plan coverage, including accidental damage protection, works here exactly as it would at an Apple Store.

Do I need an appointment?

No appointment is required — walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. That said, if you’d prefer to schedule ahead, you can book online through our website. Either way works.

How do I check if my device is still under warranty or AppleCare?

Visit checkcoverage.apple.com and enter your device’s serial number.

What if my warranty has expired?

We handle out-of-warranty repairs too. You still get genuine Apple parts and certified service. We’ll give you a clear quote before any work begins.

What Apple devices do you service under warranty?

We service all Apple products. If Apple made it and it’s covered under warranty or AppleCare, we’ll repair or replace it.
